Der
Zustand, von dem der Film wellen ausgeht und
an den er immer wieder zurückkehrt, ist eine weiße
Leinwand und absolute Stille. Aus diesem „vorfilmischen“
Zustand taucht ein einfacher Sinuston auf und mäandert in
verschiedenen Varianten von Frequenz und Amplitude über und
unter der Hörschwelle dahin. Als würde die weiße
Leinwand selbst es sein, die er dadurch wie einen analogen Oszillographen
in komplexe Schwingungen versetzt.
Where
the film wellen starts and where it again and
again returns to is a white screen and absolute silence. Out of
this "pre-cinematic" condition a simple tone emerges
and oscillates in different variants of frequency and amplitude
above and below the threshold hearing, as if the white screen
itself were undulated into complex oscillations like an analogous
oscillograph.
